Turbo Warranty Claims
Turbo Issues and Warranty Process:
If your turbo is leaking oil:
- Investigate potential causes, excluding faulty components from the original assembly.
- Warranty won't cover issues caused by excessive idle time, air leaks, blockages, or incorrect turbo sizes.
- During the warranty process, the turbo will be disassembled for inspection.
- Approved cases will receive a replacement turbo; otherwise, return shipping is your responsibility.
Common causes for oil leaks include:
- Excessive idle time without boost pressure.
- Air leaks in intake hoses or at the intercooler.
- Blockages in the air intake pipe, hose, or air intake filter.
- Restricted or blocked oil drain pipe.
- Excessive crankcase pressure.
- Hot engine shutdowns causing carbon deposits.
- Fitting the wrong size turbocharger.
If your turbo is damaged:
- Investigate the damage, excluding external impacts and contaminants.
- Warranty won't cover issues caused by contaminants from air filters, running without a filter, debris from past failures, or dirty operating environments.
- The turbo will be disassembled during the warranty process for inspection.
- Approved cases will receive a replacement turbo; otherwise, return shipping is your responsibility.
Common causes for damages include:
- Contaminants from air filters or air filter system debris.
- Running without an air filter.
- Debris from past turbo failure left in the air duct system.
- Dirty operating environments.
- Carbon deposits from the engine.
- Pieces of deteriorated exhaust housing.
Conditions causing the shaft to snap:
- Avoid overspeeding the turbo and ensure an adequate exhaust housing size.
- Turbo surge (excessive change in wheel speed from throttle input) can lead to shaft snapping.
- Ensure proper lubrication, adequate oil supply, and high-quality, uncontaminated oil.
