Installation Instructions
- Preparation: Slide the cylinder kit assembly into the cylinder block, ensuring the connecting rod is in the same position as when removed. Push by hand until resistance is felt.
- Tool Setup: Install the cylinder liner installer (J–35597–A) over the kit to be installed. Leave the tool in place until after measuring the liner protrusion.
- Bolt Installation: Thread three cylinder head bolts through the tool and into a head bolt hole, centering the round shoe of the tool over the liner. Alternately tighten the bolts until secure.
- Liner Installation: Turn the threaded center bolt clockwise. As the round shoe reaches the liner, ensure proper positioning into the cylinder liner. Continue turning until the liner bottoms in the cylinder counterbore.
- Torque Application: Apply a tightening torque of 60 N·m (44 lb·ft) to the installation tool center bolt.
- Measurement: Install a dial indicator sled gage. Measure the distance from the top of the liner flange to the top of the block and remove the cylinder liner tool.
